![]() Sinister Recordings started out in 2002 with the intention of creating a label dedicated to pushing new talent and releasing high quality House and Breaks. With up-and-coming Artists such as Introspective, Amb & Splitloop gaining nominations in the International Breaks Awards, Sinister are well on the way to achieving its goals. Sinister never has strict guidelines in what it will release. From the first few releases up until the present day, the label has displayed a varied array of styles, although rarely resists succumbing to a bit of Tech / Tribal House and tough funky Breaks. In other words, the music needs a bit of attitude. ![]() Introspective The label operates on an international level with Argentinean producer / DJ Fernando Alvaro (aka Big Head) promoting the Sinister brand with his own unique production style over in South America and label residents Southpaw & Introspective pushing the Sinister sound worldwide with their fortnightly radio show ‘Melting Pot’ on the well-established Australian radio station – Pulse. Sinister’s associated licensing company, Toryumon, also manages the label catalogue in Japan and other territories for the digital and mobile markets. Although 12” vinyl is still a large part of Sinister’s business, the label has become committed to creating a solid online strategy in order to make the catalogue available in digital formats across a number of portals worldwide, as well as promoting a series of online-only releases that will cater for both DJs and music-lovers that are looking to buy their new music in digital format. ![]() Splitloop The label’s diversity of style and strict quality control policy has seen a whole spectrum of DJ’s, Press and Radio supporting the label. From the established International DJ’s such as Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, James Zabiela and Orbital through to the best of the Breaks DJ’s such as Hyper, Meat Katie, Plump DJs, and Hybrid to UK national BBC Radio 1 DJ’s Annie Nightingale, Fergie and the lesser known (although no less talented) resident DJ’s, Internet & local Radio and Regional Press. Sinister believe the diversity of the label is reflected in the diversity of its advocates and hopes to continue to provide only the best in upfront House and Breaks.
